Fusion Technology Solutions Provides Work Experience for Healdsburg High Juniors
Healdsburg, January 22, 2019 – This year, Fusion Technology Solutions has once again partnered with the Healdsburg High School Junior class to provide three students valuable work experience over a 3-week period. Through the mentorship program offered at the High School, these students will get to know the ropes of what goes on in the MSP (managed service provider) world.
Scott Schulze, Fusion CEO, recognizes the importance of growing our future tech leaders right here at home. “Our program will help the students look behind the scenes within an IT company, to better understand the requirements of real business environments, as well as provide insight into the hardware and networking sections of the tech industry.” The internships aim to broaden students’ horizons, providing them with hands-on experience alongside their studies to enhance their chances of employment and inspire future careers.
Over the next three weeks, the student interns will start with hands-on learning opportunities deconstructing and reconstructing PCs, setting up local networks, and making the cables to connect all their network devices together. The next weeks will shift the focus to more software-based projects. The students will be working with an affordable, miniature PC called a Raspberry Pi. These PCs are a great introduction to hardware and software programming that is only limited to the imagination. With initial projects providing a general understanding of the devices and what they can do, the Fusion team is even more excited to see what creative ideas they come up with themselves.
